Hello, I'm Freyja, the designer and maker at Thayer Jewelry Studio. I'm so happy you're here!

My focus is to create colorful, well-made jewelry with a ton of personality!

Everything is designed and made right here in Rhode Island. My goal is to make jewelry that’s more than just an accessory — it should be a way to express who you are. You know that favorite piece you find yourself reaching for over and over again? That’s the kind of connection I hope to create.

A bit about how I got here.

I studied at Rhode Island School of Design, where I worked with steel and precious metals creating both large-scale furniture and delicate pieces of jewelry.  After graduating, I knew I wanted to keep working with metal, and jewelry was the right fit as it was practical to make in a small space. I started by making one-of-a-kind pieces for myself, often designing a statement pieces for special occasions. That grew into making custom work for friends and family. Wanting to deepen my skills, I went to work for Tiffany & Co., where I focused on stone setting and learned the precision and discipline required to create fine jewelry. After leaving Tiffany’s I continued learning new skills by taking classes and working alongside other jewelers. Over time, I built up my experience and eventually transitioned into working as a freelance jeweler.
Each step in my journey has shaped the way I approach my work—with care, patience, and a deep respect for the craft.

I remember my professor at art school saying, once you learn the rules you can break them. So, here's to a collection of broken rules.

I’m always working on new, fun designs, so please, keep checking back in.

Thank you for supporting a small, local artisan business.
